Rosary Across India... Why?

The sparks arising from the “Rosary at the Borders” in Poland in Oct, 2017 where thousands gathered at around 4000 locations to implore protection for their homeland and the world, have burst forth into a blazing fire, with Ireland praying the Rosary on 26th Nov’17, United Kingdom on 29th Apr’ 18 and Australia on 13th May’18.

“I bear a special love for Poland, and if she will be obedient to My will, I will exalt her in might and holiness. From her will come forth the spark that will prepare the world for My final coming” — Jesus to St. Faustina Kowalska (Diary, 1732).

On 7th Oct 2018, 56 countries on 6 continents, including India ‘united’ as the ‘New Holy League of Nations’ in publicly praying the Rosary for ‘the values of Life and the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary’.

These were the 56 countries: US, Canada, Mexico, Columbia, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Peru, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Panama, UK, Ireland, Belgium, Poland, Romania, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Finland, Slovenia, Gibralter, Malta, Lebanon, Syria, Holy Land, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, India, Russia, Phillipines, Vietnam, Japan, Georgia, Armenia, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, Singapore.

For many in India and abroad the 7th of October 2018 was also the concluding day of the 54 Day Rosary Novena which began on 15th August, the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady.

At 5pm, thousands of people in over 250 locations in India, prayed the Rosary together for our country, as reparation, for our priests & religious, for restoration of the values of the culture of life, for protection of the innocent in the womb, for sanctity of marriage and family and for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We were joined by Indians in Kuwait, Oman, UAE and Bahrain.

Almost all states participated with complete participation of the dioceses of Pune, Kurnool, Karwar, Bongaigaon and Tura. There was a public procession in Margao, Goa. In Kerala, the 3 rites of the Catholic Church, Latin, Syro – Malabar & Syro – Malankara joined together in a Rosary Eucharistic Rally. Many prayed the entire Rosary, all the mysteries, non - stop through the day. Chain Rosaries were initiated by many. In many locations there were candlelight processions, while in others the Rosary was prayed in Churches and in local areas. In several places it was endearing to see the little children gathered to pray the Rosary. Click here to view the photographs & videos of the Rosary of 2018

This truly international uniting of nations in prayer is reminiscent of Pope Pius V forming the Holy League of Nations and his command to pray the Rosary for victory in the 1571 Battle of Lepanto.
Today, in these troubled times we gather once more under the banner of the ‘New Holy League of Nations’, to pray the Rosary. Click here

The Rosary Across India and the Worldwide Rosary is on the following Sunday 08th October 2023. . In India the Rosary will be prayed at 5pm India time. The miraculous Rosary is prayed 27 days in petition and 27 days in thanksgiving. Click below to know how to pray the 54 day novena.

The ‘Eucharist’ is ‘the source and the summit of our Catholic faith’. We must spend as much time as possible in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament and carry out the devotion of the First 5 Saturdays in reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as requested by Our Lady at Fatima, when She urged the children to pray the Rosary every day in order to obtain peace for the world and the conversion of sinners.

Our Lady said to the children: Sacrifice yourself for sinners, and say many times, especially whenever you make some sacrifice: ‘O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.’

We must live the message of Fatima which is Reparation, Reparation and Reparation. It is this message of reparation that is echoed in the prayers that the ‘Angel of Peace’ taught the children of Fatima, when he appeared to them the previous year in 1916, to prepare them for the coming apparition of Our Lady. This ‘Angel’ who is widely believed to be the Holy Archangel St. Michael, taught them what came to be known as the Fatima Prayers:

“Most Holy Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit; I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences whereby He is offended. And through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners.”

“My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee! I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love Thee”.

“Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament.”

We encourage you to honour Our Lady of the Rosary by praying the entire Rosary. Also known as the Psalter of Our Lady, the entire Rosary is all of the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious mysteries, i.e 15 decades. It was later in the 20th century that Pope St. John Paul II added the Luminous mysteries.

To those families who are in the beautiful habit of praying the family Rosary together, we encourage you to go a step further and pray entire Rosary i.e 3 mysteries, on any one day of the week.

And to those families who for some reason or other have not been able to pray the daily family Rosary, we lovingly entreat you to endeavour to pray at least a decade of the Rosary together.

Our Blessed Mother reiterated at Akita what she had said at Fatima, “Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the Bishops and the Priests.

And we are confident in the promise Our Lady made at Fatima when she said
“In the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph”.

All for the † Immaculata †
